Mexican Economy Secretary Says Repeat of '09 Crisis Unlikely

Los Angeles – Mexican Economy Secretary Bruno Ferrari said in an interview with Efe that the current economic situation was not like that in 2009, when Mexico's economy contracted by 6.5 percent, but the government should remain "cautious."

Axis to expand in Mexico

Axis International is to expand its operation in Mexico, targeting domestic growth opportunities and the country’s international reinsurance business.

Mexico is one of Axis’s largest operations in Latin America and the company plans to target business and revenue growth in areas including state catastrophe work, retail and industrial risks and financial lines.

Axis has two offices across Mexico with a staff of 25 plus a fixed team of 40 engineers and architects to evaluate cause and value of losses for catastrophe events and large national accounts. In the region the company also has operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Peru.
