Predict surge in aircraft production worldwide

Mexico .- According to the study "2011 Midyear outlook for the global aerospace and defense sector," the manufacturing industry worldwide forecast a rebound in aircraft production, to permit the creation of 30 000 900 units with a value exceeding three billion dollars over the next 20 years, 27 percent of which will be placed in North America, says Deloitte.

La manufactura mexicana se vuelve más competitiva

En 2011, DuPont decidió invertir 500 millones de dólares (mdd) en México para instalar una planta que produzca 200,000 toneladas de dióxido de titanio.

Volkswagen invirtió 550 mdd en una planta de motores en Silao, Guanajuato; General Motors (GM) destinó 500 mdd para fabricar herramentales en Toluca.

Eurocopter apostó 550 mdd en una planta de componentes de helicópteros en Querétaro, mientras que Pirelli destinó 210 mdd en una fábrica de llantas.

Por su lado, las empresas japonesas han volteado a ver a México como una opción viable: Mazda y Sumimoto planean invertir 500 mdd en una planta de autos.
